Rare EHRLICH “SPECIAL GRAIN”
Beautiful Grain, Virgin Color
Flame Fans, Very Near Mint!
Here’s a beautiful pipe from EHRLICH shop, and it’s marked SPECIAL GRAIN. The pipe is from the esteemed Tobacco shop out of Boston, MA. which started in 1868. They have a long heritage for fine pipes, and I’m thinking this one was produced in-house. They are known to have pipes made with EHRLICH stamp from some of the best pipe makers worldwide, plus they made their own pipes of high quality. This is the first SPECIAL GRAIN marked model I’ve seen from them. The pipe is a full-size pot shape, with a square shank and nicely made vulcanite saddle bit. It’s got a natural or “virgin” stain, and the grain is stunning! It earned the SPECIAL GRAIN grading, as the full surround of the bowl is really beautiful. The bowl condition is very near mint, as the exterior shows virtually no wear, it’s nicely cared for. The inside of the bowl is evenly well-seasoned from use, with super thin cake thickness, draw hole bottom center, and it draws easy. The stem is definitely original as it has their
E
stamped on the side. It’s in great shape, looks well cut with shallow smooth tooth wear. The pipe weighs about 1.5 ounces, draws great. Been freshly polished and is ready to smoke!
