HAND MADE, Very Near Mint!
Offering a unique early STANWELL “SELECTED BRIAR” model, which is a fully hand-made Danish pipe. It’s got the Registration 969-48 marking they started using from 1948 through the early 1970’s, so it’s from that time period as they ended the stamping in the early 1970’s. This is the higher-grade SELECTED BRIAR, and is also marked HAND MADE on the top of the shank. It is a Stanwell shape 93R shape, an extraordinaire sized (6 3/4” long) Canadian with a tapered bit. It’s in very near mint condition. The bowl just the slightest normal wear, has no fills, no issues. It shows off some gorgeous fans of flame-grain, with tight defined birdseye grain in the outer bowl, rich color. The stampings are sharp, and it’s in amazing shape for a 50-75 year old pipe! The bowl interior is well-seasoned, has a very thin cake and the draw hole is right at the bottom center. The stem is original, in phenomenal condition too, with no tooth marks. Weighs about 1.9 ounces.
The pipe’s been expertly polished and is ready to smoke!
